Description: In the Fall each year the Chinook return from their distant journey to Alaska and spawn together in the tributaries of the Salmon River. This big buck had spawned with his queen after fighting for the privilege. (Note his torn up head) and I captured this incredible image of the Maple leaves and his decaying body having identical colors….He looks like he is wrapped in a fall cloak. Exposure was for 15 seconds in the dim light 30 minutes after sunset.
