Cormorant Lifting Off
This image documents a moment in time that occurs often here in the abundant waters of the Oregon Coast… This powerful diver is able to descend as deep as 100 feet in search of all the different forage fish found here.
This is a fully grown female (That I found washed up on the tide line) and she is lifting off from the waters of the Salmon River near our home, with a school of Pacific Herring in the water underneath.
