Albacore Tuna Head

Albacore is also known as the longfin tuna due to its long pectoral fin (30% of the fish’s total length) with which it swims and “flys”, looking like a peacock blue and green butterfly as it swims. Warm blooded it is capable of swimming at speeds over 50 miles per hour. In order to stay warm and feed its high consumption of oxygen this species never stops moving from the moment it is born. Individuals can reach up to 54” in length and weigh up to 150 lbs.
