Deep Sea Ribbon Fish Pair

This delicate and beautiful family of ribbon fish lives at great depths, their bodies being thin and silver with graceful dorsal fins which they wave back and forth as their primary means of movement. They are commonly called "earthquake fish" in parts of Asia where they are also found because the fish are popularly believed to appear following major earthquake events due to alleged sensitivity to disturbances in the ocean floor.
