Pacific Albacore Tuna Tail

One-of-a-kind original: SOLD
Image Size: 12” X 12”
I hand printed this Gyotaku, (or fish rubbing) directly from the Albacore on MA rice paper with Gamblin Fine Art Inks, in September of 2017. Signed with species, location, my signature, red chop and date.

The story: This 28 lb Albacore Tuna was caught by hand, jigging 40 miles off of the Oregon Coast. The unique shape of its tail allows it to reach speeds of over 50 miles per hour!

This one-of-a-kind original was printed on Mulberry paper with archival inks, and then mounted on a FSC birch panel with black lacquered edges and sealed with a matte varnish and UV coating. All panels are ready to be hung.
