Brandt’s Cormorant Wing Outstretched

This extraordinary bird is one of the oceans most skilled swimmers and heavy feeders on small forage fish. They are capable to diving to depths in search of their prey and are communal flying in formations like geese and perching in trees along the ocean and estuaries. They are one of the few sea going birds without oil in their feathers so they are often seen with wings outstretched in order to dry them out in the wind and sun.
