Twin Chinook Salmon Bucks on their spawning Redds - Original

This 36 lb native chinook was caught on the Nehalem River bar, on the central Oregon Coast, by Gregg Tibbett’s in the Fall of 2017. I printed it both left and right in order to create the image of two salmon bucks on a Redd which is a depression in the gravel bed of a river or stream, made by the female hen salmon, in order to lay her eggs. The males compete with each other for who will fertilize her eggs with their milt.

The surface of this original artwork was sealed with an invisible matte UV coating, it was then applied with archival adhesives to a custom made 1.5” deep hardwood panel which has black enameled sides and mounting slots ready for hanging.
